MIDDLE SCHOOL HUMANITIES TEACHER
Lisa has 15 years experience as a classroom teacher. She was an art instructor at an elementary school, but has spent most of her time teaching humanities and language arts to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.
Lisa received her BFA in Visual Arts from SUNY Purchase, and a Masters of Ed. from Univeresity of Massachussetts – Boston. From all her studies and experience, she feels that the important things she learned about teaching were learned from the students themselves.
Before Crestmont, Lisa has had the pleasure of working at Live Oak School, Windrush School, East Bay School for Boys, and Mark Day School.
Lisa and her partner live in Richmond with their two dogs and kitten. Their son, Aaron, lives in Austin, Texas, and recently finished his stint in the Marines and is attending college on the GI Bill. In her spare time Lisa likes to write fiction, compose, record, and perform music, make art, do home improvements, hike, and go for bike rides. Lisa is excited to be joining the Crestmont community as the middle school humanities teacher.
