Extended Care Aide
At the age of 15, Duncan had an interest in teaching and taking on leadership roles from his time as a camper at Camp Quien Sabe in Monterey, California – where he then became camp counselor and recreation leader.
During his six years on staff, he learned many useful skills about mentorship, communication, and childcare. Since that time he’s also worked in recreation with the City of Berkeley’s afterschool programs, where he was able to continue his love of teaching, inspiring creativity, and learning invaluable lessons from students and peers alike.
Duncan has also always had an interest in the arts and storytelling in general, which led to his early fascination with comic books and classical painters (using static images to tell grand stories).
He studied drawing, painting, and illustration at Monterey Peninsula College, California College of The Arts, and Peralta College. During his years as a working artist he showed his work in galleries all over the East Bay, and occasionally hosted his own events for friends and local artist to show their work. Duncan’s hobbies include painting, writing, hiking, biking, camping (Mount Tamalpais is a favorite spot), playing video games, and occasionally working on short films and music videos.
