Stop! + Listen

Student activism gives kids a meaningful way to learn about citizenship, empathy, and peaceful expression.

When Crestmont students created messages for the signs they carried down the hill, they shared their hopes and concerns. They stood up not just for democracy, but for kindness, safety, and fairness.

This experience no doubt built confidence, critical thinking, and communication skills—tools that help students bloom into thoughtful members of their school and community.

By expressing what they wish for all Americans and all humans, students also learned that caring for others is a shared responsibility.

Peaceful, age-appropriate activism helps kids and teens understand that differences exist, and that expressing ideas with compassion can bring people together.

It encourages curiosity, empathy, and a sense of belonging—reminding our community that every student’s voice matters and that learning how to engage respectfully is an important part of growing up.
