Math & Science Teacher (part time)
POSITION SUMMARY
We seek an enthusiastic and skilled Part time Math/Science Teacher to join our community for the remainder of the school year. This position involves teaching math to one small mixed 6th-8th grade class and one small 5th grade group, and science to the same two groups of students, fostering a love of learning, and helping each student reach their full potential. We offer instructional coaching and mentoring. After a probationary period, this position may lead to full-time position in Fall 2026.
The schedule involves teaching in the mornings, done by 12:30pm each day, and time for lesson prep/planning.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement an engaging, hands-on rigorous curriculum and lesson plans aligned with Crestmont’s values core learning competencies.
Build strong relationships with students, fostering a classroom climate that is respectful, inclusive, and supportive of diverse learners.
Collaborate with staff and families to create a cohesive and nurturing school community.
Use creative and real-world applications to make math and science relevant and engaging for students.
Support students’ academic, social, and emotional development in alignment with Crestmont’s mission.
One parent-teacher conference and two written progress reports.
Participation in admissions related events: ability to speak about your program to prospective families.
Qualified candidates will have:
A bachelor's degree (preferably in education)
Experience teaching math/science at the upper elementary and/or middle school level.
A passion for creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Strong interpersonal skills, including building connections with students, staff, and families.
A commitment to fostering the emotional and social growth of every child.
The ability to develop curriculum and differentiate instruction for a range of learners.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Compensation: Starts at $35 an hour
