A Day in Crestmont TK

Children sitting on the floor, attentively listening to a speaker, with the focus on a young boy in a blue tie-dye sweatshirt.

The morning begins with songs and stories, offering exposure to letters and sounds.

Children move on to counting games and calendar activities, setting the stage for the rest of the day.

A young girl is painting on a large canvas with bright colors, using a brush. She is focused and wearing a paint-splattered apron.

Arts-based activities are sprinkled throughout the day.

Creative expression and sensory exploration are central to the TK curriculum.

Conversations about what it means to be a classroom community are a regular feature of TK group work.

Students experience on a daily basis what mutual respect and cooperation looks and feels like.

Students are given opportunities to develop empathy for others and for their natural environment.

Activities that build fine and gross motor activities are a major focus of each day.

A young girl with braided hair, wearing a pink shirt and black pants, is blowing a large soap bubble with a pink sandal on her feet. The soap bubble is elongated and colorful, stretching out from her bubble wand. A red bucket is on the ground nearby, and the background features trees and a cloudy sky.

Even our youngest students practice mindfulness as a way to be present and intentional in their social interactions and academic activities.
